FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

We could tell you about what a great company we are, but so can anyone else. Check out our Tripadvisor or Google reviews. This is one of the best ways to see unbiased reviews of actual clients experiences. We are committed to providing you with the best experience possible. We want to make your time with us memorable and hassle-free, which we accomplish by offering free delivery to your choice launch site, as well as launching from our location.

We have two locations available, Bunche Beach and Pelican Bay!

The address for our Bunche Beach location is 17950 John Morris Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33908.

Our Pelican Bay location is at 18450 San Carlos Blvd, Fort Myers, FL 33931.

We also offer free delivery and pickup of kayaks and paddleboards around Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral, Sanibel, Captiva, Matlacha, Pine Island, Naples, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers. Deliveries must be arranged by phone or email.

Reservations are not required for rentals or guided tours at our Bunche Beach or Pelican Bay locations, though we highly recommend them to ensure availability. Off-site rentals do require a reservation. The busier we are, the longer ahead of time you should book. In some cases, we can deliver with short notice, but oftentimes we need several hours or more notice, depending on our existing delivery schedule.

We don’t have any set age restrictions. Generally, if a child is old enough to sit relatively still for the length of time you plan to be on the water, they can go. Children under 3 years old can sometimes run out of patience on a kayak, so bringing snacks and toys to keep them busy can be helpful. We have lifejackets for kids weighing 30lbs and up. If you’re bringing a child weighing less than 30lbs, please make sure to bring a properly fitted infant lifejacket for them.

Kids can sit on the front of a Tandem (2 person) kayak with an adult in the back and can paddle or just enjoy the ride, depending on age and ability. Kids under 3 years old can ride in the middle of a tandem kayak with 2 other passengers, though there is no actual seat for them so they would be between the legs of the rear paddler. Our single kayaks are quite maneuverable so kids can use those as well. Every child is different so we don’t have specific age requirements. If they have never been on a kayak before, we recommend considering them being on a tandem kayak the first time, especially if they are under 12 years old.

On paddleboards, you can bring a small child (under 50lbs) on a board with you, but it will be much less stable if you do this. Therefore we only recommend this if you have some experience. We also suggest a minimum age of 12 for kids to be on their own board, but in some cases, younger kids can be on their own board, especially if they have some experience. Please remember that there’s no way to tow a paddleboard.

Alligators are generally prevalent in fresh water. We don’t see them in saltwater environments, which is where most of our rentals and guided tours take place. That’s not to say that it’s impossible that we would see a gator in saltwater, but it would be highly unlikely. I know it sounds cliché, but alligators are more scared of you, than you are of them, so even if there were a gator in the vicinity, it would most likely try to get away.

Tips are always appreciated, but not required. If you feel that your guide did a great job, and provided a memorable trip, a tip is a great way to show your appreciation. How much to tip is entirely up to you, though 10-20% is customary.

Every tour is different, and wildlife is unpredictable. We generally see a variety of animals including dolphins, manatees, a variety of birds, rays, and turtles.  We also enjoy some very beautiful scenery including pristine beaches, shallow bays, and mangrove tunnels

We recommend you bring something to drink, and sun protection (sunblock, hat). You may also bring a snack and anything else you think you might need.

We recommend wearing light clothing, such as a bathing suit, or shorts and a t-shirt, depending on the weather. On cooler days you might consider bringing a windbreaker or fleece to stay warm. You should avoid and heavy cotton, such as jeans and sweatshirts, as these will absorb water and stay wet and heavy.

You may also bring your phone or camera to take pictures and video of your experience. We have dry bags available for purchase for $10 for your convenience.

Our half day rental is up to 3 hours from the time of your reservation. If you arrive late for your reservation it won’t be cancelled, but your rental time will be shorter, depending how late you are. If your reservation is at 9am, you’re due back by 12pm.

Full day rentals at our Bunche Beach and Pelican Bay locations are due back by 5pm unless otherwise agreed.
