WHY PUT A MOTOR OR YOUR KAYAK?

Have you ever been out fishing on your Kayak, and wished you had an extra set of hands to cast with while you’re paddling? How about wanting to take your Kayak to a really nice, secluded area, far from anywhere you can launch, but are not comfortable with the idea of having to paddle all the way there and all the way back?

The motorized kayak eliminates most of the disadvantages that a Kayak might have compared to a regular motor boat, while preserving all the advantages. Depending on the Kayak, you can generally get into water about 12″ deep with the motor down and running. If you need to get into shallower water (to about 4″ deep) you just tilt up the motor, and paddle or pole. You’re also maintaining the ease and economy of using a Kayak versus a powerboat. The only cost is a few extra cents on your electric bill to charge the battery. No Fuel, no ramp fees, no trailer parking fees. You can launch your kayak at countless locations, basically anywhere there is water access, no ramp needed.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Our motors mount on the stern of your Kayak as opposed to the side or middle of the Kayak like most Kayak motors you see. You have full control of everything from a seated or standing position in the cockpit. Steering is connected to your foot pedals, so it’s hands free. It works similar to a rudder. The throttle is mounted in one spot in the cockpit in the case of the standard or EK throttle. The EM and EH throttle includes a wired remote control which can be moved anywhere on the kayak.

Throttle Options

Standard: All of the standard kits come with a 5 speed forward and 3 speed reverse “click” switch which is mounted inside the hull . A knob is exposed on the top deck which will allow you to choose any speed or direction at any time. Going from full speed forward to full speed reverse is like putting the brakes on, stopping the kayak in a few feet. This feature makes your kayak one of the most maneuverable systems out there. The Standard can be converted to an EM, EK, or EH at any time, with some relatively simple wiring.

EM:  The EM electronics are housed in a fully waterproof control module to be mounted below the deck of the kayak. All electronics are sealed in marine-grade polyurethane to provide corrosion-proof protection. The extruded aluminum housing features specially designed fins that dissipate heat to keep things cool under high rpm use. Using Heyco waterproof fittings makes this option carefree whether use in fresh or saltwater. The EM option is an electronic throttle system that delivers the precise amount of power needed at any speed, along with variable speed settings. You get the ability to “dial up” the precise speed setting you desire, regulating the amount of power delivered to your motor so it runs cooler with no wasted power. And now, advanced, digital micro processing optimizes draw to extend battery life and reduce damaging heat. Get up to five times longer run time on a single charge If you plan on longer trips this option is a must Control the speed of your EM equipped kayak with an corded remote that can be mounted or handheld. Offers infinitely variable speed control in forward and reverse. Features neutral (off) detent position. Great for standing and controlling the speed. Good for High Rise seats, such as the Jackson, Native or Freedom Hawk seats. IP68 rated.

EH:     This option is almost the same as the EM above but without the  extruded aluminum housing. It still features the hand held throttle control. Great if you plan on standing , or have an elevated, or high rise seat

EK:   This is the same as the EH above, but without the hand held control. The throttle control in the EK is a hull mounted knob. Perfect if you’re seated.
