Tour Details
At Kayak Excursions, we offer Manatee Tours year-round and often spot these gentle creatures on many of our other tours. When water temperatures in the gulf drop suddenly due to a cold front, manatees congregate in the warmer waters slightly inland, which makes for an incredible close encounter. During spring, summer, and fall, we regularly see manatees on our Eco Tours. If your main desire is to see manatees, please call us to check current sightings and to see which tour is the best to book. When waters cool and manatees leave to head inland, we adjust our tours to follow their route, all in the Fort Myers/Cape Coral region. In some cases, there may be a $5 per person surcharge to cover the launch fees in those areas, but we will disclose that to you beforehand.
This tour is a total of 3 hours. Your reservation includes all necessary equipment, including a kayak, paddles, backrests, and life jackets. There will also be plenty of opportunities for photo taking, so feel free to bring a waterproof camera or an inexpensive camera in a waterproof bag. Guides will be available to take photos, as well.
We recommend that you bring:
- Bottled Water
- A bathing suit or shorts that you don't mind getting wet
- A pair of water shoes or flip flops that you don't mind getting wet
- A hat
- Sunblock

Cancellation Policy
Please note that our guided tours have a 5-day cancellation policy. This means that you can cancel a reservation with more than 5 days' notice without penalty. Cancellations with less than 5 days' notice will be charged a deposit of 50% of the tour fee. Additionally, cancellations with less than 2 hours' notice will be charged the full amount of the cost of the tour. The only exception to this policy is if we have to cancel due to weather. Weather cancellations are at the sole discretion of Kayak Excursions and its guides.
