FAQ

These are some of the most common questions we get and answers to them. If you have other questions please Contact us any time.

We could tell you about what a great company we are, but so can anyone else. Check out our Tripadvisor or Google reviews. This is one of the best ways to see unbiased reviews of actual clients experiences. We are committed to providing you with the best experience possible. We want to make your time with us memorable and hassle free, which we accomplish by offering free delivery to your choice launch site, as well as launching from our location.
We also provide free extras, such as drybags and photos of your trip which we post on our Facebook page, or can e-mail directly to you.

Our main location is at Bunche Beach in Fort Myers. The address is 17950 John Morris Rd, Fort Myers, FL 33908. We also offer free delivery and pickup of kayaks and Paddleboards around Southwest Florida, including Cape Coral, Sanibel, Captiva, Matlacha, Pine Island, Naples, Bonita Springs, and Fort Myers.

Reservations are not required for rentals or guided tours at our Bunche Beach location, though we highly recommend them to ensure availability. During the summer and fall we aren’t necessarily open every day at Bunche Beach, but can arrange drop offs by reservation. Off site rentals require a reservation. The busier we are, the longer ahead of time you should book. In some cases we can deliver with short notice, but often times we need several hours or more notice, depending on our existing delivery schedule.

We don’t have any set age restrictions. Generally if a child is old enough to sit relatively still for the length of time you plan to be on the water, they can go. Children under 3 years old usually don’t do well on a kayak, though there are exceptions to this.
We have several different types of kayaks to accommodate children of different ages. For the youngest (under 6) we have kayaks that have a rear facing seat in the front of the kayak, so your child can see you the whole time. They will not be able to paddle from this position though.
We have tandem (2 person) kayaks for bigger kids (ages 5 and up), where they sit in a seat in front of the kayak, but are facing forward so they can paddle too. We also have kids kayaks which are generally appropriate for ages 9 and up, depending on the child. These are just smaller kayaks, so they’re easier for kids to maneuver and control.

Alligators are generally prevalent in fresh water. We don’t see them in saltwater environments, which is where most of our rentals and guided tours take place. That’s not to say that it’s impossible that we would see a gator in saltwater, but it would be highly unlikely. I know it sounds clichee, but alligators are more scared of you, than you are of them, so even if there were a gator in the vincinity, it would most likely try to get away.

Tips are always appreciated, but not required. If you feel that your guide did a great job, and provided a memorable trip, a tip is a great way to show your appreciation. How much to tip is entirely up to you, though 10-20% is customary.

Every tour is diffent, and wildlife is unpredictable. We offer manatee and dolphin tours, where we specifically go out and find those animals. We also offer eco tours, which are less specific as far as what we see. Instead of focusing on one species, we see a variety of wildlife, often including Dolphins, Manatee, a variety of birds, rays, and turtles. We also enjoy some very beautiful scenery and mangrove tunnels in some locations.

We recommend you bring something to drink, and sun protection (sunblock, hat). You may also bring a snack and anything else you think you might need.

We recommend wearing light clothing, such as a bathing suit, or shorts and a t-shirt, depending on the weather. On cooler days you might consider bringing a windbreaker or fleece to stay warm. You should avoid and heavy cotton, such as jeans and sweatshirts, as these will absorb water and stay wet and heavy.

You may also bring your phone or camera to take pictures and video of your experience. We provide dry bags for your convenience.

Our half day rental is up to 3 hours from the time of your reservation. If you arrive late for your reservation it won’t be cancelled, but your rental time will be shorter, depending how late you are. If your reservation is at 9am, you’re due back by 12pm.

Full day rentals at our Bunche Beach location are due back by 5pm unless otherwise agreed. Off site rentals may be up to 24 hours from the start of the rental.
